Mpox virus claims lives in that country!

The South African Department of Health announced that another patient infected with the mpox virus has lost their life. It was reported that the 38-year-old patient, who was admitted to the hospital with complaints of widespread lesions, headache, fatigue, mouth ulcers, muscle pain, and sore throat, tested positive yesterday and passed away on the same day.

It was noted that the death toll from the mpox virus has risen to 2, and the number of cases has increased to 6.

FIRST DEATH WAS RECORDED YESTERDAY

On the other hand, South African Health Minister Joe Phaahla announced in a statement yesterday that a 37-year-old man had died due to the mpox virus, marking the first recorded death from the virus.

Phaahla emphasized that the cases are currently being seen in men between the ages of 30-39 who have no travel history to countries where the outbreak is occurring, which indicates that the virus is being transmitted locally.

Patients infected with the mpox virus, which bears similarities to smallpox, exhibit symptoms such as high fever, headache, back and muscle pain, chills and shivering, and skin rashes.
