Pay attention to the symptoms that indicate diabetes risk in advance!
If you are experiencing dizziness or a feeling of fainting, this may be a sign of your risk of developing diabetes in the future.
Hungarian scientists state that individuals at risk for Type 2 diabetes are six times more likely to develop nerve damage associated with heart conditions. Researchers from Semmelweis University state that subtle signs of this nerve damage can appear even before a diabetes diagnosis is made.

Neuropathy means damage to the nerves and is a known complication of diabetes. However, it is noted that this damage can also be seen before diabetes develops. Researchers suggest that these findings could be used to monitor neuropathy symptoms in people at risk for diabetes and to slow or prevent nerve damage.
In the study, health tests of 44 people with a high risk of diabetes were examined. The participants' heart rates and their bodies' reactions to sensations such as pain, burning, and numbness were measured. The results showed that this group was 5.9 times more likely to have a type of nerve damage called parasympathetic neuropathy.
It was emphasized that this condition, known as cardiac autonomic neuropathy (CAN), a type of nerve damage related to the heart, is more common in individuals at risk for diabetes. According to the NHS, this type of neuropathy can manifest with symptoms such as getting tired quickly while exercising and dizziness when standing up.
The research also revealed that the incidence of sensory neuropathy was higher in the at-risk group. This type of neuropathy can manifest with symptoms such as numbness, tingling, burning sensations, and pain in the feet and hands, and can spread to all limbs over time. These findings were published in the journal Frontiers in Endocrinology.
