SGK's disability retirement list updated: 15 diseases identified
The Social Security Institution (SGK) has updated the list of diseases that grant the right to disability retirement. The new list includes 15 conditions such as cancer, epilepsy, and Parkinson's disease.
According to social security laws, individuals who have started their working life as insured employees may be entitled to early retirement if they become disabled due to various health problems. This right is generally divided into two main categories: disability retirement and disability rights.
For citizens who have difficulty continuing their professional lives due to health issues, the early retirement option is made possible through special regulations by the SGK.

Disability retirement applies when certain diseases lead to a loss of work capacity of 60 percent or more. However, not every health condition is considered eligible for disability retirement. The health problem experienced by the individual must cause a serious loss of work capacity. Furthermore, to benefit from the right to disability retirement, the insured person must have worked for at least 10 years and paid 1800 days of premiums.

Early retirement opportunities offer significant support for individuals who face difficulties in their professional life, whose health condition has deteriorated, or who have received a medical report stating they are unable to continue working. Social security legislation includes special regulations for this need and ensures that citizens can benefit from the retirement advantages they are entitled to.
