Internal Medicine Specialist Dr. İlksoy İkibiroğlu issued important warnings regarding fatty liver disease, which can be caused by factors such as obesity, insulin resistance, inactivity, and nutritional disorders.
Stating that the liver controls all nutrients consumed, separates harmful substances, prevents them from mixing into the blood, and ensures they are excreted, Dr. İlksoy İkibiroğlu said, "The liver protects a person's general health status. A healthy liver improves quality of life. Fatty liver disease is one of the leading conditions that pose a risk to liver health."

Stating that the main symptoms indicating fatty liver disease include fatigue, nausea, loss of appetite, weight loss, abdominal pain, and mental confusion or absent-mindedness, Dr. İlksoy İkibiroğlu underlined that constant weakness and fatigue are significant symptoms. Dr. İkibiroğlu added, "In addition to these main symptoms indicating fatty liver disease, symptoms such as bad breath and body odor, bloating, hemorrhoids, increased body temperature, redness in the eyes and palms, and itching and redness on the skin should also bring fatty liver disease to mind."
Emphasizing that the treatment of fatty liver disease must be planned by a specialist doctor, Dr. İkibiroğlu stated that treatment processes can vary from person to person depending on the causes of the fat accumulation, and these causes can only be determined after examinations and tests performed by an internal medicine specialist.

Stating that early diagnosis of fatty liver disease is very important for the recovery process, Internal Medicine Specialist Dr. İlksoy İkibiroğlu said, "The liver is an organ that can regenerate itself. Therefore, with an early diagnosis, the recovery process is successful and short."
Touching upon the precautions that can be taken to prevent fatty liver disease, Dr. İlksoy İkibiroğlu emphasized that limiting alcohol consumption and weight control are the most effective measures.
Stating that changes in diet should also be made if necessary, Dr. İlksoy İkibiroğlu expressed that one should follow a nutrient-rich diet that does not contain excessive calories and is low in saturated and trans fats.
