The e-Report era for medical leave certificates! Now available via e-Devlet

A new practice for medical leave certificates has begun with the e-Report system implemented by the Ministry of Health. Under the new system, some medical leave certificates that previously lacked a digital equivalent will now be issued electronically, with certain exceptions.

According to the Ministry's statement, students, individuals under the age of 18, civil servants, public officials, tradespeople, and self-employed individuals will be able to benefit from the application. Citizens will be able to access the medical leave certificates they receive from healthcare institutions via e-Devlet.

Physicians working at all healthcare service providers authorized by the Ministry of Health will be able to issue medical leave certificates electronically. The reports will be securely recorded and can be verified through the “e-Report Verification Service.”

With the new regulation, it is aimed to carry out procedures more quickly without the need for printed copies of medical leave certificates created in the electronic environment.

The Ministry also pointed out that the scope of medical leave certificates issued by the Social Security Institution (SGK) is different from the e-Report system. The statement noted that medical leave certificates for 4/A insured workers who have the right to receive temporary incapacity benefits under the Social Insurance and General Health Insurance Law No. 5510, as well as optional 4/B insured individuals, will continue to be issued through the SGK system.
