Those cheeses are being recalled from shelves

Le Cavalier brand raclette cheeses sold across France are being urgently removed from shelves due to the detection of Listeria bacteria. Warnings have been issued that these cheeses, particularly those purchased from Aldi stores, should not be consumed.

The French consumer platform RappelConso announced the presence of the Listeria monocytogenes bacterium in 400-gram Raclette Classique cheeses. It was stated that these risky products were sold in Aldi stores across France between September 25 and October 23, 2025. The recalled batches include GTIN: 26065847 — Lot 267, 268, and 272, and the expiration dates for these products were announced as November 19 and November 24, 2025, respectively. The health mark code for the products was reported as FR 71.047.001 CE.

The Listeria bacterium poses serious health risks, especially for pregnant women, the elderly, and individuals with weakened immune systems. Symptoms can appear up to 8 weeks after consuming infected food and may include fever, headache, nausea, and muscle aches. Those experiencing these symptoms are advised to consult their doctors immediately and inform them that they have consumed this cheese.

RappelConso has called on consumers not to consume these cheeses under any circumstances and to return them to the Aldi stores where they were purchased to request a refund. The recall process will continue until November 24, 2025.

Although this recall decision covers sales in France, consumers in Turkey should also be cautious regarding food products brought from abroad or imported via the internet. Experts warn consumers to follow hygiene alerts for European-origin dairy products and to avoid consuming imported cheeses of unknown origin.
