UNICEF statement on Gaza: We are concerned
United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) Executive Director Catherine Russell reported that they have lost contact with their colleagues in Gaza and stated that she is extremely concerned that one million children in Gaza are about to experience another night of unspeakable terror.
UNICEF shared a message from Catherine Russell regarding Israel's attacks on Gaza on its social media platform X account.
In her message, stating that they have lost contact with their colleagues in Gaza, Russell used the expression, "I am extremely concerned that one million children in Gaza are about to experience another night of unspeakable terror."
Russell emphasized that all humanitarian workers, as well as the children and families they serve, must be protected.
LATEST SITUATION IN GAZA
Due to Israel's intense attacks on the blockaded Gaza Strip, landline, mobile phone, and internet communication services in the region have been completely cut off.
The Israeli army announced that it is increasing its airstrikes and will expand its ground operations. Al-Shifa Hospital, the largest health facility in Gaza where thousands of wounded and civilians are located, has also been targeted by the Israeli army.
