11 more people arrested in fund investigation: Number of detainees rises to 45

New arrest warrants have been issued in the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office's Investigation Bureau for Terrorism Financing and Money Laundering Crimes regarding transactions carried out in the capital markets.

The prosecution procedures for 21 suspects, who were detained and referred to the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan as part of the investigation, have been completed.

In the first stage, Ayşe Seher Aydın, Enes Yazıcı, Feryal Köker, Müjdat Ede, Oğuzhan Özerkaya, Onur Göğebakan, Orçun Berkay Kaya, and Ahmet Özcan were arrested. Nilgün Sarıçalı and Sezai Bekgöz were released under judicial control conditions. 

11 MORE PEOPLE ARRESTED

Arrest warrants were also issued for 11 suspects whose proceedings at the judgeship were ongoing. Thus, the number of people arrested in the latest judicial process rose to 19, and the total number of detainees in the entire investigation rose to 45.

FORMER CBRT DEPUTY GOVERNOR ERKAN KİLİMCİ ALSO ARRESTED

Among those arrested is former CBRT Deputy Governor Erkan Kilimci. Kilimci served as Deputy Governor of the CBRT between 2016 and 2018 and later served as a board member at Tera. 

WHAT HAPPENED?

The investigations conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office are focusing on transactions carried out in the capital markets and manipulative operations allegedly conducted through funds. As part of the investigation, judicial proceedings had previously been initiated against numerous company executives and capital market employees.
