19 detained in 122 million lira fraud allegation
An operation was carried out in 3 provinces following allegations that M.A., an accounting employee at a company in Istanbul, transferred company payments to his own network.
In an investigation launched over allegations that M.A., who worked as an accounting employee at a company in Istanbul, transferred payments made to company accounts to his own account and the accounts of individuals he was allegedly connected to, 19 suspects have been detained.
In the investigation conducted under the coordination of the Gaziosmanpaşa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, teams from the Istanbul Police Department's Public Security Branch Office, Fraud Bureau, began examining the "qualified fraud" allegation following a complaint from a company. In the work carried out, it was estimated that the damage suffered by the company reached 122 million lira.
MONEY TRAFFIC EXAMINED
Within the scope of the investigation, it was alleged that M.A. had directed some payments made to the company in recent years to his own account and to accounts belonging to other suspects. Tracking the money movements, the teams identified one by one the individuals stated to have a financial connection with M.A.
During the examination, it was determined that a portion of the money allegedly transferred was spent in luxury entertainment venues and casinos. Among the allegations were that M.A. and his girlfriend, Ş.Y., went to Cyprus and Georgia to gamble, and that Ş.Y. also underwent cosmetic surgery.

SIMULTANEOUS OPERATION IN 3 PROVINCES
Following technical and physical surveillance, police teams pressed the button for the operation on September 4, 2026. In the Istanbul-based operation, simultaneous raids were also carried out at addresses identified in Sinop and Tokat.
In the operations, 19 suspects, including M.A., were apprehended and detained. During searches conducted at the suspects' addresses, 1 unlicensed pistol, 1 unlicensed rifle, and various documents were seized.

Within the scope of the investigation, blocks were placed on the suspects' bank accounts. Additionally, it was reported that 5 real estate properties and 12 vehicles were seized. M.A. and the other suspects, whose procedures at the police station were completed, were referred to the courthouse.
