5th wave of operations in Gülistan Doku investigation: 10 suspects detained
Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek announced that a 5th wave of operations has been conducted following new findings in the investigation into the disappearance of Gülistan Doku.
A new operation has been carried out in the investigation into the disappearance of Gülistan Doku. Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek announced that 10 suspects were detained in the 5th wave of operations conducted as part of the investigation.
In his statement, Gürlek noted that the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Interior, the Offices of the Chief Public Prosecutor, and police and gendarmerie units are working in coordination, stating that current technological capabilities and new evidence are being evaluated to shed light on cold cases.
Stating that the investigation is being carried out under the coordination of the Erzurum and Tunceli Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices, Gürlek shared the following information regarding the operation: “Within the scope of the investigation into the disappearance of Gülistan Doku, conducted under the coordination of our Erzurum and Tunceli Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices and our Police and Gendarmerie organizations, a 5th wave of operations was carried out today and 10 suspects were detained.”
According to Minister Gürlek's statement, new findings have been reached in the case regarding the bridge where Doku was last seen and the time interval, based on License Plate Recognition System (PTS) data and communication records. Additionally, suspicious access and activity on Doku's Instagram account following her disappearance, as well as notable findings regarding underwater search efforts, have also been included in the investigation file.
