Armed attack on a coffeehouse in Tarsus: Suspect in incident that left 1 dead arrested
Ramazan Yıldırım, who was apprehended following a coffeehouse attack in the Tarsus district of Mersin that left 1 person dead and 4 injured, has been arrested.
The suspect apprehended in connection with an armed attack on a coffeehouse in the Tarsus district of Mersin, which resulted in the death of Mehmet Atlı and left 4 others injured, has been arrested.
The incident occurred on the evening of September 28 in Tarsus's Çağlayan neighborhood. As a result of gunfire opened on the coffeehouse, 71-year-old Mehmet Atlı, who was inside, as well as M.Y. (49), R.D. (25), N.Y. (53), and O.T. (24) were injured.
Upon notification, health and police teams were dispatched to the area. Medical teams determined that Mehmet Atlı had lost his life. The 4 injured individuals were transported to hospitals by ambulance.
The Tarsus District Police Department, which launched an investigation to capture the suspect who fled after the attack, identified the suspect as 70-year-old Ramazan Yıldırım.
Yıldırım, who was taken into custody during an operation conducted by police teams, was referred to the courthouse following his processing at the police station. The suspect was brought before a judge and subsequently arrested and sent to prison.
It was reported that the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
