Journalists Şaban Sevinç and Sözcü.com.tr reporter Mustafa Balcı, who were detained as part of an investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into transactions carried out in the capital market, have been referred to the criminal judgeship of peace with a request for their arrest.
It was stated that journalists İsmail Saymaz and Murat Ağırel were also summoned to testify as suspects in the investigation on charges of "disinformation" due to allegations that they made statements of a "misleading" nature to the public.
It was reported that Mustafa Balcı and Şaban Sevinç were detained yesterday after sharing a photograph in which AKP Spokesperson Ömer Çelik and Osman Arıkan Nacar appeared in the same frame.
The statement procedures for Balcı and Sevinç at the prosecutor's office, who were referred to the courthouse in the morning, have been completed. The two journalists were sent to the judgeship with a request for arrest under the charge of "publicly disseminating misleading information."
It was also learned that journalist Murat Ağırel, who was summoned to testify as a suspect in the same investigation, has arrived at the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan.
