Avcılar Mayor Çaykara's statement revealed

Avcılar Mayor Utku Caner Çaykara, who was detained in the 5th wave of operations carried out as part of the corruption investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, denied all accusations in his statement to the police.

Çaykara stated that he did not consider benefiting from effective remorse because he believes he is innocent.

Çaykara was asked questions regarding the tender processes of the Avcılar Municipality.

Stating that he had no interference in the tender processes, Çaykara said, "In accordance with the Public Procurement Law, the processes are carried out by the relevant directorates. I am not informed when payments are made; progress payments are paid according to the order of completion of the work. I did not have any meetings with the contractor companies, and I did not direct anyone," he said.

RESPONSE TO AKTAŞ'S STATEMENT

Regarding the statement of businessman Aziz İhsan Aktaş, Çaykara stated that he only knows Alican Abacı and Erhan Daka, and that he has no connection with the other names and companies.

Çaykara denied the accusations, saying, "I have no knowledge regarding the alleged issues."

Çaykara said, "As the elected mayor of Avcılar at the age of 34, if I had been invited, I would have gladly come to give a statement. I have no connection with the mentioned crimes and names.

I successfully completed the election process and have been trying to perform my duty in the best way possible for 14 months.

My faith in law and justice is complete," he stated.
