Muhittin Böcek, who was detained, arrested, and suspended from his post following an investigation launched into allegations of bribery and corruption at the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, has taken a significant step to benefit from effective remorse. Böcek was brought to the Antalya Courthouse at noon, and the process of giving his statement to the prosecutor's office has begun.
Böcek's name was included in the main file of the investigation conducted into the municipality after he was detained on July 5. Following his arrest, his mayoral duties were also suspended. It is stated that as a result of the application made to the Antalya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, a reduction in his potential sentence or other forms of leniency may be provided.
Furthermore, within the scope of the same investigation, Böcek's son, Gökhan Böcek, had previously filed an application for effective remorse before the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. Gökhan Böcek made his application on May 2 and provided his statement within the scope of the investigation.
