A release decision has been issued for CHP council member Ekrem Baki, who was detained and arrested before the deputy mayoral election at Üsküdar Municipality. It was reported that Baki was released under the measure of house arrest.

Baki's lawyer, Onur Cingil, announced the development in a post on his social media account. In his post, Cingil described his client's release as "the best news of the day."

My dear colleague, the release of our Üsküdar and IMM Council Member Ekrem Baki is the best news of the day. This system, which has turned into an arithmetic where the AKP Judiciary locks people up whenever it wants and releases them once it has seized the municipality, must change. Greetings to those who stand tall, welcome to freedom...
