Court of Cassation Member Metin Yandırmaz, who previously served as Deputy Chairman of the HSYK, reminded the public of Article 38 of the Constitution of the Republic of Turkey in a post on his official X account.

In this post, Yandırmaz emphasized the importance of the presumption of innocence.

Metin Yandırmaz used the following expressions in his message:

"Article 38 of the Constitution of the Republic of Turkey:

'No one shall be considered guilty until proven guilty by a court judgment.'

This is called the presumption of innocence in criminal law.

It is a fundamental right and rule that not only legal professionals but everyone should know."

This reminder by Court of Cassation Member Yandırmaz was interpreted as a reference to the operations conducted against CHP-run municipalities.
