Court orders release of Levent Dölek and 3 others
Academic Levent Dölek and 3 others, who were arrested due to the Saraçhane protests and university boycott, have been released by court order under judicial control conditions.
The Istanbul 61st Criminal Court of First Instance has issued a release order for four defendants who were arrested on March 26, 2025, on allegations of "participating in unlawful meetings and marches."
The court ruled for the release of Abuzer Görgüç, Hasan Bilgin, Kerem Gümre, and Levent Dölek under judicial control provisions, taking into account their personal and social circumstances, fixed residences, and the lack of suspicion of flight.

Regarding defendant Hasan Bilgin, despite the allegation of strong suspicion of a crime, it was decided to apply judicial control requiring him to sign in at the police station nearest to his residence once a month until his defense is taken.
The decision was made following the initial evaluation within the scope of the indictment dated April 8, 2025. While judicial control decisions were lifted for many other defendants in the same case, the court also ruled for the cancellation of arrest warrants for some defendants.
