Due to the expiration of Zeki Yiğit's term, the Council of State presidency election will be held on April 24. Current President Zeki Yiğit, 6th Chamber President Emin Sınmaz, and 5th Chamber President Fethi Aslan will be among the candidates in the election.

The election process at the Council of State is beginning due to the fact that the 4-year term of Zeki Yiğit, who was elected as President of the Council of State on May 7, 2020, is coming to an end.
In this context, the presidential election will be held at the Council of State General Assembly on Wednesday, April 24, at 14.00.
In the election, the 116 members of the Council of State will go to the polls to determine the President of the High Court, who will serve for 4 years.
In the election, where each member of the Council of State can be a candidate, the candidates will need to receive at least 59 votes, which is the absolute majority of the members.
