Great Unity Party (BBP) Chairman Mustafa Destici made evaluations regarding the ongoing investigation into the death of the party's founding leader, Muhsin Yazıcıoğlu. Reminding that more than 17 years have passed since the accident, Destici stated that they are following the incident in both its legal and political aspects.
Destici said that the investigation file had been handled by different authorities in the past and that decisions of non-prosecution had been issued during certain periods. Stating that the process was moved to Ankara following their requests for the file to be handled in Ankara, Destici emphasized that the investigation should proceed comprehensively.
Demanding that issues such as allegations regarding how the helicopter might have crashed, the manner in which search and rescue operations were conducted, and the preparation of different reports related to the incident be examined in all their aspects, Destici stated that the second wave of the operation was also comprehensive within this framework.
In other words, the second wave was a comprehensive operation. Hopefully, all doubts in this incident will be addressed and all suspicions will be clarified; the truth and reality will hopefully be brought to light. This is our expectation as well.
In his remarks, Destici also touched upon the fund investigation. Arguing that there are "abnormal activities" in this area, the BBP leader said they find it important for the relevant state institutions, especially the Ministry of Justice, to pursue the matter. Stating that proximity to public duties, political positions, or different circles should not provide protection to anyone, Destici expressed his wish for the grievances of small investors to be resolved.

Criticizing the PKK and the DEM Party, Destici said they have no problem with Kurdish citizens and that the element they oppose is the terrorist organization.
Stating that they would be pleased if the organization were to lay down its arms and dissolve itself, Destici noted, however, that they would not accept any concessions regarding Turkey's national identity, flag, and language.
Destici also reacted to the speech by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the United Nations General Assembly. Criticizing Israel due to developments in Gaza, Destici stated that Islamic countries should act in stronger cooperation on the Palestinian issue.
