INVESTIGATION WAS LAUNCHED DUE TO HER POST
After journalist İsmail Saymaz shared information on March 15 that he had a travel ban and his passport had been seized, Üner had commented on her social media account, stating, "The character assassinations by FETÖ-remnant operation children are tiresome now!" This post led the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office to bring charges of 'publicly degrading judicial bodies' and 'attempting to influence a fair trial.'
UP TO 2 YEARS OF IMPRISONMENT HAD BEEN REQUESTED
Due to the post in question, a prison sentence of up to two years had been requested for Üner. However, at the end of the trial process, Ece Üner was acquitted.
