Indictment against Deniz Göktaş: Up to 11 years and 2 months in prison requested
The indictment prepared against Deniz Göktaş on three separate charges is currently under review at the Istanbul Criminal Court of First Instance.
An indictment has been filed against Deniz Göktaş on charges of "publicly inciting the public to hatred and hostility or insulting them," "publicly insulting the President," and "praising a crime and a criminal."
The indictment requests that Göktaş be sentenced to a prison term ranging from 2 years and 8 months to 11 years and 2 months.
President Erdoğan is listed as a complainant in the case file. It was also stated that there are a total of 13 complainants, including 11 individuals, one being the Moral, Principled, and Meritorious Religious and Foundation Employees Union (Diyanet-Sen), and one being reports filed via the Presidential Communication Center (CİMER).
