Individual who threatened Yasemin Minguzzi referred to courthouse
M.E.U., who was identified as having sent threatening messages to Yasemin Minguzzi, the mother of Mattia Ahmet Minguzzi who lost his life after being stabbed in Kadıköy, has been detained in Yalova and brought to court with a request for his arrest.
Following the death of Mattia Ahmet Minguzzi as a result of an attack in Kadıköy, his grieving mother, Yasemin Minguzzi, had filed a complaint with the authorities days ago due to messages containing threats and insults directed at her via social media.
After Yasemin Minguzzi brought the threats she faced to public attention, her call addressed to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on her social media account also drew widespread attention. In the investigation launched into the incident, M.E.U. was identified as the owner of the account that sent the threatening messages to Minguzzi.
M.E.U. was apprehended in Yalova as a result of an operation conducted by police teams. The suspect's digital materials were seized. The detained individual was later brought to the Bakırköy Courthouse in Istanbul.
Within the scope of the investigation conducted by the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the suspect M.E.U. was referred to the on-duty criminal judgeship of peace with a request for arrest. An official statement regarding the matter was also issued by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
The details of the investigation and the decision to be made by the court are awaited with interest.
