Jewelry and money gifted at 'Vanlı Kara Haydar's' wedding recovered

A new development has occurred in the investigation conducted into Mehmet Fatih Tançalan, known in the public eye as "Vanlı Kara Haydar." The jewelry and money reported to have been gifted to his wife, Çağla Öz, at Tançalan's wedding were recovered during a search conducted in the Muradiye district of Van.

The investigation launched by the Van Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against Tançalan for the crimes of "insulting the Turkish nation, the State of the Republic of Turkey, and the institutions and organs of the state" and "laundering assets derived from crime" is ongoing.

Within the scope of the investigation, teams from the Provincial Police Department's Public Security Branch conducted a search at a designated house and its annexes in Muradiye in order to locate the jewelry and money gifted at the wedding. During the search, the jewelry and money reported to have been gifted to Çağla Öz were seized.

The teams also took S.A., who is stated to be the owner of the searched premises, into custody. It was reported that proceedings regarding the seized jewelry and money are continuing within the scope of the investigation file.

Mehmet Fatih Tançalan had been taken into custody in Muradiye on September 8 as part of an investigation launched due to his social media posts. Tançalan was arrested by the duty magistrate judge on charges of "laundering assets derived from crime."

An investigation had previously been requested from the Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK) regarding the gold reported to have been gifted at Tançalan's wedding.
