Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek announced that judicial proceedings have been initiated against 404 individuals to date in investigations conducted into allegations of manipulative transactions and unfair gains in capital markets.
In a statement on his social media account, Gürlek reported that 88 suspects have been arrested, 26 suspects have been detained, and judicial control measures have been applied to 195 individuals within the scope of the investigations. RESTITUTIONS CONTINUE
Providing information on the financial dimension of the investigations, Gürlek stated that precautionary measures have been taken by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against 351 natural persons and 102 legal entities. These measures include the freezing of bank accounts, the seizure of assets, and the prevention of real estate transfers.
Gürlek noted that the aim is to protect the assets subject to investigation and to bring financial movements under control, adding that restitutions made by natural and legal persons assessed to have obtained unfair gains to accounts created within the Savings Deposit Insurance Fund (TMSF) are continuing.
Minister Gürlek reported that the amounts returned and the findings within the scope of the investigations are being followed by the chief public prosecutor's offices, and that judicial processes are being carried out simultaneously.
Our citizens should rest assured; we will follow every legal stage to the end, from the identification of suspects to the uncovering of financial connections, and from asset precautionary measures to restitution processes.
Gürlek emphasized that the process will be continued with determination to protect the rights of citizens and to ensure that those responsible are held accountable before the law.
