Law on the Justice Academy of Turkey Published in the Official Gazette
The Law on the Justice Academy of Turkey, which regulates the training processes for judges and prosecutors, has been published in the Official Gazette. The Academy will offer training programs to support professional development and will collaborate with universities for postgraduate education through the Center for Legal Research. Judges and prosecutors with at least eight years of experience may be appointed as faculty members. Training will be provided free of charge.
The Law on the Justice Academy of Turkey has entered into force after being published in the Official Gazette, following its adoption by the General Assembly of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey on February 13.
According to the new regulation, the Academy will plan and implement the professional training processes for judge and prosecutor assistants, as well as for serving judges and prosecutors.
The Center for Legal Research, to be established under the Academy, will conduct joint programs with higher education institutions and offer postgraduate education opportunities to support the development of judges and prosecutors in their areas of expertise.
Furthermore, judges and prosecutors who have gained at least eight years of experience in the profession may be appointed as faculty members within the Academy by the Minister of Justice.
The training programs to be offered to judge and prosecutor assistants and serving judges and prosecutors will be conducted without any fees charged.
