Lawsuit filed against children involved in Barış Boyun's criminal organization

The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office Juvenile Crimes Investigation Bureau has completed its investigation into the organized crime group led by Barış Boyun, who is currently detained in Italy.

In this context, proceedings were initiated against a total of 79 suspects, 40 of whom are children, determined to have been involved in various activities of the organization. A lawsuit was filed in the Juvenile High Criminal Court against the underage suspects, seeking prison sentences ranging from 20 months to 75 years and 6 months.

During the investigation process, it was stated that the suspects—23 of whom are in custody, 16 of whom are under judicial control, and 40 of whom are children—will be tried for crimes including 'membership in an armed organization established to commit crimes,' 'attempted intentional homicide,' 'qualified robbery,' 'threat with a weapon,' and 'damage to property.' Additionally, charges such as 'violation of Law No. 6136,' 'destruction, concealment, or alteration of criminal evidence,' 'unauthorized importation, manufacturing, transportation, and sale of firearms or ammunition,' 'purchase, transportation, and possession of serious weapons or ammunition,' 'forgery of official documents,' and 'intentional endangerment of general security' are also being brought against them.

With the completion of the investigation into the suspects identified as being involved in 32 separate acts of the criminal organization, a public lawsuit has been filed and the judicial process has begun.
