A group of lawyers in Istanbul will come together to demand that Criminal Procedure Code (CMK) fees be equalized with the Minimum Attorney Fee Schedule (AAÜT) and that no VAT deductions be made from these fees. In a statement made on behalf of Young Lawyers, it was noted that they will gather in front of the Çağlayan Courthouse on Tuesday, February 25, at 12:00 PM.

Attorney Doğan Zafer Çıngı stated in a post on social media that young lawyers, in particular, have been experiencing serious economic difficulties in recent years. Çıngı said, 'CMK fees have been increased at very low rates for the last two years. Last year, we held vigils for 70 days and conducted press conferences to have these fees equalized with the AAÜT. However, we were greatly disappointed when the 2025 CMK fee schedule was announced.'

Expressing that the political administration has ignored the problems of lawyers, Çıngı added, 'As young lawyers in particular, we are coming together once again to defend our rights. We will be in front of the Çağlayan Courthouse on February 25.'

The lawyers emphasize that the low increase rates in CMK fees are negatively affecting their professional lives. It is stated that similar actions will continue if their demands are not met.
