Mehmet Fatih Tançalan, known as 'Vanlı Kara Haydar' on social media, arrested
Following his detention in Van, Mehmet Fatih Tançalan was arrested by the presiding judge and sent to prison.
Mehmet Fatih Tançalan, known on social media as "Vanlı Kara Haydar," has been arrested as part of an ongoing investigation.
The Van Chief Public Prosecutor's Office announced that an investigation had been launched into Tançalan under Article 301 of the Turkish Penal Code in connection with a post made on social media platforms.
Acting on the instructions of the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, teams apprehended Tançalan, who is reported to have 25 prior incident records, at his residence in the Muradiye district of Van at approximately 03:00 on September 8.
Tançalan was taken to the police station by teams from the Van Provincial Security Directorate's Public Order Branch, where his statement was taken, followed by a statement at the prosecutor's office.
After the procedures were completed, Tançalan was referred to the courthouse on charges of "laundering assets derived from crime" and was subsequently arrested by the duty magistrate and sent to prison.
