MHP continues its legal criticisms: Reaction to Ahmet Özer from Feti Yıldız!
MHP Deputy Chairman Feti Yıldız emphasized that justice is not just a decision but also a civilizational goal, stressing that legal decisions must be based on common sense and the law, not anger.
MHP Deputy Chairman Feti Yıldız issued a new message regarding the importance of law and justice in a statement made on social media. Yıldız stated that the processes involved in the administration of justice are not merely about fulfilling legal obligations. In his post, he used the following expressions: "Justice is not just a sentence in a decision, but a claim of civilization. A verdict is established not with anger, but with law; its justification convinces society, and the rest is left to the testimony of history."
Stating that legal rules are fixed but society and living conditions are constantly changing, Yıldız expressed the necessity for legal practitioners to correctly adapt existing laws to concrete cases.
Yıldız included the following statements in his explanation:
"Notes for the curious: While legal rules remain in place, life changes, develops, and transforms into a different structure at every moment. Those tasked with the administration of justice are obligated to interpret laws correctly and apply them accurately while adapting abstract legal rules to concrete events. Justice is not just a sentence in a decision, but a claim of civilization. A verdict is established not with anger, but with law; its justification convinces society, and the rest is left to the testimony of history."
MHP CRITICISM OF THE SENTENCE GIVEN TO AHMET ÖZER
The recent 6-year and 3-month prison sentence given to Esenyurt Mayor Prof. Dr. Ahmet Özer on charges of "being a member of an armed terrorist organization" had caused reactions from various segments.
MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli had also made an assessment on the subject via his social media account. In his post, Bahçeli stated, "The sentencing of Esenyurt Mayor Prof. Dr. Ahmet Özer to 6 years and 3 months in prison for the crime of 'being a member of an armed terrorist organization' not only contradicts universal legal principles but also stands in direct opposition to the goal and effort of a 'Terror-Free Turkey.' This decision has no karşılık (equivalent/resonance) in the collective conscience and no reasonable justification."
