Murat Emir issues harsh criticism of the judiciary over Tayfun Kahraman's health condition

The hospitalization of urban planner and MS patient Tayfun Kahraman, who has been imprisoned for approximately 43 months as part of the Gezi Park trial, has caused concern among the public. Republican People's Party (CHP) Group Deputy Chairman Murat Emir expressed his reaction in a statement published on his social media account regarding the development.

Emir used the following expressions in his message: "Tayfun Kahraman is in the hospital, and you are still pursuing lawlessness! The court that resists the Constitutional Court's ruling, the government that approves of this silence. You are all responsible. Are you trying to commit a murder right before our eyes? What more are you waiting for to implement the Constitution?"

This harsh statement, made following Kahraman's hospitalization due to his health condition, has sparked a new debate regarding the stance of judicial authorities and the silence of the government. The imprisonment of Kahraman, who had previously been requested to be released in accordance with the Constitutional Court's ruling, had already drawn criticism from the opposition.

In the public eye, the long-standing imprisonment and the failure to take health issues into account are being criticized from the perspective of human rights. Following these developments, all eyes will be on the potential steps to be taken by the judicial and executive branches.
