A new practice is being implemented to ensure a more balanced distribution of workload within the judicial organization and to complete investigations in a shorter time. Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek announced that two important principle decisions have been put into effect following the work carried out by the Council of Judges and Prosecutors (HSK).
According to the statement, principles have been established for the participation of chief public prosecutors serving in chief public prosecutor's offices organized before criminal courts of first instance, as well as deputy chief public prosecutors, in judicial matters.
The regulation allows chief prosecutors and deputy chief prosecutors to take part in judicial processes in addition to their administrative, supervisory, and coordination duties. Thus, it is aimed to make more effective use of the knowledge and experience of seasoned judicial members.
GOAL IS TO COMPLETE INVESTIGATIONS WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME
The new practice is expected to contribute to a more balanced distribution of the case load among public prosecutors. The Ministry's statement emphasized that enabling citizens to access justice services more quickly and reducing delays in trials are among the priority goals.
Stating that efforts to increase efficiency in justice services will continue, Gürlek pointed out that the power of justice lies not only in making the right decisions but also in making them in a timely manner.

It was stated that the principle decisions implemented by the HSK were put into effect to strengthen the functioning of the judicial organization and to carry out justice services more effectively.
