New ruling from the Court of Cassation in the Reina massacre case: He had slaughtered 39 people

The 3rd Criminal Chamber of the Court of Cassation has ruled to return the case file regarding the terrorist attack that took place at the Reina nightclub in Ortaköy, Istanbul, on New Year's Eve in 2017, which resulted in the deaths of 39 people, on the grounds that the reasoned decision was not served to the parties in accordance with the procedure.

The Chamber completed its review of the verdict issued by the Istanbul 27th High Criminal Court on September 7, 2020, regarding the case in which ISIS member Abdulkadir Masharipov, who carried out the attack, was also among the defendants.

Determining that the reasoned decision was not served to some of the plaintiffs in accordance with the procedure, the Chamber decided to return the case file to the local court.

SENTENCED TO 1368 YEARS IN PRISON

The court, which sentenced defendant Masharipov to 1368 years in prison and a judicial fine of 375 thousand liras for the crimes of "attempted murder" against 79 people and "carrying an unlicensed firearm of a serious nature," had decided that the defendant's detention should continue.
