Operation against Daltonlar and Baygaralar in Ankara: 7 suspects arrested
The Chief Public Prosecutor's Office announced that 10 people were referred to the courthouse and 7 were arrested during an operation targeting 11 suspects.
The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has announced that 7 people have been arrested in an operation targeting suspects identified as acting on behalf of criminal organizations known publicly as the "Daltonlar" and "Baygaralar".
According to the statement from the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the operation was carried out as part of efforts conducted by the Ankara Provincial Police Department's Anti-Organized Crime Branch between August 11-12, 2026. A total of 11 suspects were processed as part of the investigation.
In accordance with the instructions of the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, 10 suspects, including 2 "children in the judicial process," were referred to the courthouse. A decision was made to arrest 7 suspects who were brought before the judge with a request for detention.
Three suspects, including the children in the judicial process, were released under judicial control measures. The statement noted that efforts are ongoing to apprehend one suspect who was processed in the investigation.
