Person who removed Erdoğan banner arrested
Ufuk Ö., who was reported to have removed an Erdoğan banner hung on an overpass in Devrek, has been arrested following his processing at the gendarmerie.
In the Devrek district of Zonguldak, Ufuk Ö., who was reported to have removed a banner of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan from an overpass, has been arrested.
The incident occurred on an overpass on the Ankara-Zonguldak Highway. According to the information obtained, the Erdoğan banner, which had been hung along the route by Devrek Municipality teams, was removed from its place. Those moments were recorded by citizens in the vicinity using a mobile phone camera.
In the footage, it was seen that Ufuk Ö. applied oil to the banner before removing it from its location and carrying it down from the overpass. When a person reacted by asking, "Why are you removing this?", Ufuk Ö. replied, "Do you need it? You can call the police and report it."
Meanwhile, it was reported that a person who was calling the police on their phone also reacted to Ufuk Ö., saying, "You're looking for trouble, aren't you? Who are you, where are you from? You think you're superior to the President, don't you?"
Following the report, an arrest warrant was issued for Ufuk Ö., who was alleged to have removed and damaged the banner. Ufuk Ö., who was taken into custody by gendarmerie teams, was referred to the courthouse after his processing at the station. The suspect was brought before a judge and was arrested and sent to prison.
