Requested sentences for consulate attack attempt revealed
In the indictment regarding the attempted attack on the Israeli Consulate General in Istanbul, aggravated life imprisonment has been requested for 14 suspects.
The investigation into the attempted attack on the Israeli Consulate General in Istanbul has been completed. An indictment has been prepared for 14 suspects identified as members of the terrorist organization ISIS.
According to the investigation file, the suspects opened fire with long-barreled weapons at police officers who tried to stop them during the attempted attack on the consulate. Three police officers were injured in the incident.
In the prepared indictment, the suspects were charged with "attempting to abolish the constitutional order," "attempted intentional homicide," "membership in an armed terrorist organization," and "possession of unlicensed weapons."
The indictment requests aggravated life imprisonment for the 14 suspects, as well as additional prison sentences ranging from 19 to 37 years.
