Rüstem Elibol, who killed his ex-wife Bahar Aksu in the middle of the street in Şişli, and three people who assisted him, appeared in court for the second time. The hearing was adjourned to complete missing procedural requirements.
In the tragic incident that took place in Şişli on May 5, Bahar Aksu, who was on her way to work, lost her life after being shot while her ex-husband, Rüstem Elibol, attempted to abduct her. Following the incident, Elibol and the three people with him were apprehended by the police in a short time.
At today's hearing of the case held at the Istanbul 4th High Criminal Court, the lawyers for the parties were present. The detained defendants participated in the hearing via the Audio and Visual Information System (SEGBİS).
STATEMENTS OF THE DEFENDANTS
In his defense during the hearing, defendant Rüstem Elibol stated, "I am very regretful. I cannot express myself." The other defendants stated that they did not accept the charges. The court panel adjourned the hearing to September 11 in order to address the deficiencies in the file.
