MHP Deputy Chairman Feti Yıldız made a statement regarding the fund investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
In a post on his X account, Yıldız drew attention to the principle in criminal law regarding the transactions brought to the agenda within the scope of the investigation, stating that "there are as many crimes as there are acts, and as many penalties as there are crimes."
In his post, mentioning 455 thousand 758 investors in 131 funds belonging to 7 portfolio management companies, Yıldız stated that the provisions of "real concurrence" (gerçek içtima) should be applied to those responsible for the alleged organized fraud.
"Regarding the perpetrators who defrauded in an organized manner, real concurrence should be applied and they should be punished separately for each act; the fundamental rule of criminal law that 'there are as many crimes as there are acts, and as many penalties as there are crimes' should not be forgotten."
Yıldız's statement came at a time when political and legal debates regarding the fund investigation are ongoing.
