Son of the contractor of the collapsed building: He tried to save his father, was defrauded

In the Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquakes, successive collapses also occurred in Adana. One of the collapsed buildings was the 14-story Alpargün Apartment, built in 1994 by contractor Hasan Alpargün in the Güzelyalı neighborhood of the central Çukurova district.

Hasan Can Alpargün, who had previously announced that he had reported his father to the authorities, later began making legal attempts to save him. According to Alpargün's claims, he was defrauded and threatened by his girlfriend and the lawyer he worked for. On May 24, 2023, Alpargün filed a complaint against his girlfriend, Nida Nur Yılmaz, and the lawyer on charges of blackmail.

SOCIAL MEDIA PHENOMENON GIRLFRIEND

In his statement, Alpargün said that he met his girlfriend Yılmaz, who is a social media influencer, 3 years ago online, and that they began living in the same house during the period of psychological distress he experienced after his father was arrested. Alpargün met the lawyer he filed a complaint against during this process while going to Yılmaz's office. Emphasizing that he did not use his mobile phone or personal bank accounts as a precaution during the legal process, Alpargün stated that his tenant, Saim Tiktaş, who is a prison director, reached out to him through his girlfriend, claiming that his house was damaged due to the earthquake and asking him to send 85,000 TL, including that year's rent, for the necessary repairs. Alpargün stated that he sent these funds through his girlfriend's mother's bank account.

Alpargün later stated that he also sent 25,000 TL to a childhood friend through his girlfriend's mother's account.

WHEN HE WANTED TO BREAK UP...

In his statement, Alpargün claimed that he wanted to break up with his girlfriend due to the difficult processes he was going through, and that the events began a few days later when she made a post about his ex-fiancée. According to Alpargün's claim, his girlfriend, who did not want to break up, threatened him by saying, "I have documents in my possession." Yılmaz allegedly insisted that Alpargün come to the house of the lawyer he worked for, telling him that his father's case was high-profile and that she would publish the receipts of the money he sent to his tenant, the prison director, and his friend, as well as the fees paid to the expert witness, on her social media account as proof of bribery, and that she would have him tried for bribery with a 14-year sentence.

In his statement, Alpargün mentioned that they reconciled with Yılmaz at the lawyer's house. During the conversations there, Yılmaz told Alpargün that she wanted the lawyer in question to join his father's case. Alpargün claimed that the lawyer demanded 450,000 TL first and then 850,000 TL from him, claiming that he was influential in Ankara and could save his father. He also argued that he was threatened by Yılmaz with being exposed on social media if he did not pay the money. According to Alpargün's claim, Yılmaz even gave the documents in her possession to a friend who works as a reporter at a television channel, and the reporter called Alpargün to ask about the bribery allegations against him.

Unable to withstand the threats, Alpargün filed a complaint against his girlfriend and the lawyer. Alpargün's lawyer requested that the suspects' bank accounts be examined, that an access ban be imposed if posts are made, and that a restraining order be issued for his client's safety.

The first hearing of the case, which will be heard at the Adana 10th Criminal Court of First Instance, will be held on February 6. The investigation regarding the lawyer against whom Alpargün filed a complaint is ongoing.
