Verdict in the case of the girl who died by suicide after being abused by her alleged biological father: 28 years in prison!

The girl (the deceased), who was abused for years by her alleged biological father, had reported the situation to judicial authorities twice, but the cases were dismissed due to insufficient evidence. In the final hearing held yesterday, the court sentenced the abusive father to 28 years in prison without applying any sentence reductions and ordered the continuation of his detention.

The statement made by UCİM regarding the case is as follows:

"Finally, in 2022, the deceased, having obtained a voice recording of the defendant's confession regarding the act he committed, filed a complaint again; she died by suicide on the day the defendant was released, ending her own life.

The final hearing in the case of the late girl was held yesterday. The Istanbul Anatolian 15th High Criminal Court sentenced the defendant, the alleged biological father, to 28 years in prison for the crime of aggravated sexual abuse committed against his daughter in a chain of events, without applying any reductions, and ordered the continuation of his detention.

We hope that the soul of our child, who gave up her life while thirsting for and seeking justice, may find peace. We thank the honorable court panel for being the voice of justice and for easing the wounded public conscience, if only slightly.
