Father who wounded his daughter's molester is heading to prison

Yusuf Alp, a father who wounded the hand of a person with a cleaver in 2020 after that person molested his then 8-year-old daughter, is heading to prison.

The notice sent to the father by the Küçükçekmece Chief Public Prosecutor's Office today stated, "You are hereby notified and warned to surrender to the Marmara Open Penal Execution Institution within 10 days for the execution of the sentence against you; otherwise, an arrest warrant will be issued." The document stated that the crime was 'Intentional injury' and that he had been sentenced to 2 years and 1 month in prison.

"I WAS TRIED STARTING WITH 6 YEARS"

Speaking to 12punto.com.tr, Yusuf Alp said, "The trial, which started with a 6-year sentence for wounding the hand of the person who molested my daughter 3 years ago and offered her money, has concluded, and they gave me 2 years and 1 month. I cannot accept this situation at all. I don't know what to do now. They gave me this sentence because I wounded the hand that offered money to my daughter. They left this person, who I later learned had a file for similar incidents, unpunished. When I asked for a lawyer from the Ministry of Family, they asked me to pay the fees. I want someone to look into this situation that I am confused about," he said.

Describing the incident, Father Alp said, "She was playing in front of the door. This potato seller called my daughter to his vehicle. When my daughter came home and told her mother what happened, it clicked for me. When I looked out the window, I saw this person and the vehicle. I took a cleaver from the kitchen. As I was going out, my daughter went out before me. At that moment, the street vendor held out a wad of cash to my daughter, saying, 'Come to the car, why aren't you coming?' When I saw that, I lost control." Stating, "I attacked with the cleaver in my hand," Alp continued, "I wounded him in the arm at that moment, and he started the vehicle and fled. Hear my voice. My request to my President, my Minister of Family, and my Minister of Interior is that I want him to be arrested for the sake of God. I cannot even look at my daughter and talk. I cannot eat or drink. I cannot look my wife in the face. I haven't even gone to work since that day. I am keeping watch over my daughter. He already had a record for a similar incident before. I want this person to be arrested. Forget my criminal record, I don't even have a traffic ticket or a tax debt. They buried us alive."
