Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç: 'The Somali defendant will come to Turkey'

Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç made statements regarding the incident in which the son of the Somali President caused the death of a courier.

INVESTIGATION LAUNCHED

Minister Tunç said, "An investigation has been launched against both the prosecutor and the lawyer regarding the photos of a lawyer taken in the prosecutor's office that have been circulating on social media. The legal process will be carried out meticulously, and the necessary steps will be taken to ensure justice is served."

Furthermore, regarding the incident where the Somali President's son hit and caused the death of motorcycle courier Yunus Emre Göçer in Istanbul, Tunç stated, "We have held discussions with the Somali judicial authorities. The defendant's arrival in Turkey and his trial will take place. The trial process will begin in the near future."

WHAT HAPPENED?

On November 30, a vehicle belonging to Hassan Shekh Mohamud, the son of the Somali President, hit motorcycle courier Yunus Emre Göçer. Following the accident, Göçer was treated in intensive care for six days but lost his life. After the incident, information emerged on December 2 that Shekh Mohamud had left the country. Authorities had issued an arrest warrant for Shekh Mohamud on December 8 regarding the incident.
