'THERE HAS BEEN A SERIOUS INCREASE IN DIVORCE NUMBERS IN THE LAST 10 YEARS'
Attorney Zeynep Yargıç said, "We are seeing serious increases in divorce numbers, especially in the last 10 years. Economic reasons, in particular, as well as interference from the families of the parties, problems regarding children, and increasing life difficulties are bringing an end to marriages."
'DESPITE BEING A FAMILY, PEOPLE HAVE BECOME ISOLATED'
Explaining the reasons for the end of marriages in points, Yargıç stated, "The increase in the working female population in Turkey has further increased the burden on women in marriages. Besides this, sexual problems, incompatibility between couples, and the active role of women in business life have caused an increase in divorces. Furthermore, what we have observed recently is that individuals have become very individualized.
It is that we have become isolated despite being a family. The fact that we have started to live 'day-to-day' in the flow of life, the increase in our emotional deprivations, and our lack of expectations regarding life have also become factors that end marriages," she said.
