100th anniversary speech from Karsu: 'I was able to become a musician thanks to Atatürk'

Karsu Dönmez attended the Republic's 100th-anniversary celebration events held at the London Natural History Museum. Karsu, who gave a concert at the event, also made headlines with her speech.

"THANKS TO ATATÜRK"

Karsu spoke as follows in the speech she also shared on social media:

"I know very well that I am a daughter of this Republic. Thanks to Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, I was able to become the woman, artist, pianist, and musician I am today. One hundred years ago, Atatürk achieved this. Like many women, I am aware of this. As a woman, you can become a doctor and save someone's life. As a woman, you can become a volleyball player and make the country proud. As a woman, you can become a pilot. Like Sabiha Gökçen, you can fly other women from all over the world so they can see the world. You can become a teacher and educate future generations. You can be a mother. You can be the mother of a girl who will have the same rights for the next 100 years. How happy is the one who says I am a Turk," she said.
