72 firearms seized at French film star Alain Delon's home
French police have seized 72 firearms and more than 3,000 rounds of ammunition at the home of cinema legend Alain Delon.
Alain Delon's home in Douchy-Montcorbon, located approximately 135 kilometers south of Paris, was also found to contain a shooting range.
Prosecutors stated that Delon did not possess a firearms license.
The 88-year-old actor was a star of the golden age of French cinema and played tough-guy roles in hit films such as Le Samouraï and Borsalino.
The search conducted on Tuesday took place after a court-appointed official noticed a firearm in Delon's home and alerted a judge.
HE SUFFERED A STROKE IN 2019
Delon's health has been in decline in recent years following a stroke he suffered in 2019. According to French media, he is also suffering from another serious, undisclosed illness.
Disputes within his family have also been making headlines in France recently.
His three children are embroiled in a legal battle against one another, involving a series of insults, accusations, and secret recordings that have been leaked to the press.
The most recent legal process concerned Delon's medical treatment; a court-appointed doctor examined him last month, but his children have contested the findings.
Delon was last seen in public as an actor during the 2019 Cannes Film Festival, where he received an honorary Palme d'Or.
