A crossroads for Netflix Turkey
Pelin Diştaş, Netflix Turkey's Director of Original Content, has parted ways with the company.
Since 2018, Netflix has produced many local projects in Turkey. These local series have been watched in over 75 countries.
According to a report by journalist Birsen Altuntaş, winds of change are currently blowing at Netflix. Pelin Diştaş, who has served as Netflix Turkey's Director of Content since 2019, has decided to leave the company.
According to a report in Ranini, it was stated that the reason for Diştaş's departure is to focus on her own personal projects.
Diştaş's tenure at Netflix will conclude on July 1, 2024, when the transition is completed. The new Director of Content responsible for series on the digital platform will be Özge Bağdatlıoğlu.
As reported by Ranini, Michael Azzolino, Vice President of Content for CEE and Benelux at Netflix, stated the following:
"The content of local productions has been a subject of much discussion at Netflix for a long time. The fact that the digital platform continued to work with the same producers and actors was a frequent topic of conversation on social media. We will all see together what kind of productions await us after this change of names at Netflix."
