In a statement from Meta, it was reported that a new subscription option will be offered in the European Union (EU), the European Economic Area, and Switzerland in order to comply with regulations in Europe.
The statement noted that starting in November, Facebook or Instagram users in these regions will be provided with the choice to either continue using personalized services for free with ads or to subscribe to block ads.
The statement specified that if users choose to subscribe, their information will not be used for advertising, and it was noted that the subscription fee will be 9.99 euros per month via the web or 12.99 euros per month via iOS and Android mobile operating systems.
