What is a bedbug?
Bedbugs are oval-shaped, flat parasites that are only five millimeters in size. Bedbugs love the dark. These brownish insects stay in dark hiding places such as mattresses and bed sheets, or cracks and crevices, during the day.
Bedbugs come out at night to feed on the blood of sleeping people. Bites can sometimes be itchy and become infected. However, bedbugs do not transmit diseases.
From egg to adult, a bedbug goes through six developmental stages. To do this, they need to feed on blood every 3 to 5 days. They can multiply and spread very quickly.
