Ahmet Çakar apologizes to Hadise after losing lawsuit
Singer Hadise has won the lawsuit she filed against former referee and sports commentator Ahmet Çakar. Ahmet Çakar issued a statement on social media apologizing to Hadise.
In the case heard at the Beykoz Civil Court of First Instance, the court accepted Hadise's lawsuit and ordered Ahmet Çakar to pay 50 thousand liras in non-pecuniary damages. The court ruled that Ahmet Çakar must pay this compensation to Hadise, along with legal interest to accrue from December 15, 2024, the date the incident occurred.
In his statement on social media, Çakar stated that the court's decision was correct and apologized to Hadise for the words he had used. Çakar's post received hundreds of thousands of views in a short time.
Ahmet Çakar used the following expressions in his statement:
"I have been found at fault by the court for the words I used regarding Ms. Hadise, one of Turkey's most beloved artists. The judicial decision is correct. Sometimes criticism exceeds its purpose. Ms. Hadise, please forgive me. I apologize to you and your loved ones..."
WHAT HAPPENED?
Hadise was a guest on the program titled "Tonight with İbrahim Selim," which was broadcast on YouTube on December 15, 2024. On the program, Hadise talked about her past relationships and the separation processes. Ahmet Çakar made comments based on these statements by Hadise on his YouTube program called "Çakırkeyf."
In the petition submitted by the lawyer in the lawsuit filed by Hadise, it was stated, "The client's reputation, honor, and dignity have been damaged due to these offensive comments, slanders, and insults. For this reason, we request that 50 thousand liras in non-pecuniary damages be collected from Ahmet Çakar with interest and paid to us."
While talking about a past relationship, Hadise had said, "A fight broke out and I left the house. I went to a hotel and he followed me. You know how it is, the separation process has started in relationships, but you can't break up. I was charging my phone with my laptop, and he said, 'Can you charge my phone?' When I suddenly connected it to the computer, the message 'Do you want to synchronize everything?' appeared, and I pressed yes. He had taken excessive mirror selfies of himself. It doesn't suit him at all. After that, I watched a video. I'm glad I did."
Çakar had said about Hadise, "Hadise is an ill-mannered woman. Hadise is a tacky woman. People may have certain habits in their private lives, but it is not right to bring them up in front of the public."
