Statement from Ahu Tuğba's daughter! "I think I'm going to die"

Veteran actress Ahu Tuğba passed away on September 1 at the home of her daughter, Anjelik Calvin, with whom she lived in the USA. Tuğba, who reportedly died due to COPD, was brought to Istanbul Airport on a Turkish Airlines flight departing from Miami, USA. The plane carrying the body landed in Istanbul at 16:10.

In a post on social media, Anjelik Calvin stated, "There will be a memorial service this Saturday (today) at 11:00 at the Beyoğlu Atlas Cinema. The funeral will be laid to rest following the funeral prayer to be held at noon at Teşvikiye Mosque. Let us bid farewell to my mother together with prayers, may she depart with prayers."

"WE BROUGHT HER BACK WITH GOD'S PERMISSION"

Anjelik Calvin also recounted her mother's final days through tears. Calvin said, “Because I lost my mother suddenly, I reached out to my esteemed journalist elders Selçuk Akdağ and Nurettin Soydan to be able to bring the body back. I am very grateful to my minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu. Cemil Kalyoncu and others helped as well, and a portion was paid using my mother's own earnings. We brought her back with God's permission; I am waiting for everyone at the noon prayer in Teşvikiye tomorrow. She had advanced COPD because she had a problem related to heavy smoking, but she didn't drink or gamble. She had no other bad habits."

"I SUSPECT THE MIGRAINE MEDICATION"

Ahu Anjelik said, “I said that my mother's eyes looked bad. As her child, did blood come from her mouth? Did her eyes bleed? What happened? I pushed the issue, and only after complaining to the senators did we manage to get an autopsy with great difficulty. I am still suspicious because there was some blood on my mother's pillow. Imagine a girl who hadn't slept for 9-10 days; she developed a fever and suddenly she was cold as ice. I said, 'Mom, your fever has gone down.' I kissed her forehead and went to sleep. I think the migraine medication might have had an effect. Migraine, fever reducer on an empty stomach. The migraine medication label says it can cause bleeding if taken more than once. I suspect the migraine medication."

'SHE PRAYED AND THEN I WENT TO SLEEP'

Calvin said, “It's like a joke; we Turks eat yogurt when we are poisoned, she asked me for yogurt, she prayed as a mother. That's how I went to sleep. She said, 'I want attention.' I wish she had passed away here like a baby. She felt it. She said, 'My daughter, if I die, bury me in Turkey.' She told me, 'Don't leave me here,' she felt it, she said to me, 'My child, I think I'm going to die.' I said, 'Mom, what are you talking about, let's go to the hospital.' My judgment was clouded. I am suffering from a guilty conscience. Let everyone know this. How did I listen to her and not take her to the hospital? The night before, I am wearing her t-shirt right now anyway. The night before, I said to my mother, 'Mom, come on, let's go, the oxygen machine isn't enough, let me take you to the hospital,' she said, 'No Anjelik, I'm perfectly fine,' and she fell asleep. My mother never sleeps next to anyone like that. There was our brother Hakan. I thought she was sleeping like an angel, I couldn't perceive it at all. Then, of course, I couldn't stay still, I got suspicious when evening came, I was eating myself up inside. I looked and there was no movement from my mother. When I lifted her, she was already a corpse. God had taken her. It's a terrible thing, may God not let even my enemy experience it."

Calvin stated, “Just the transportation of the body cost over 10 thousand dollars, and that doesn't include the morgue fees. Such things are not important at all, it's a mortal world. It could be 1 lira or 2 lira. The important thing is that we lay her to rest in the sight of God, may God forgive us."
