Ahu Tuğba's illness revealed

Ahu Tuğba, who lives in America with her daughter Anjelik, was hospitalized in recent days.

'BATTLING LUNG DISEASE'

Recording artist Onur Akay stated, "My dear friend Ahu Tuğba has been battling Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, known by the acronym COPD, for a very long time. Her daughter, my close friend Anjelik, had told me about this condition years ago, but I did not write about it because she said, 'Brother Onur, please keep this between us.'

My dear sister Ahu, who is battling a lung disease that prevents comfortable and healthy breathing as a result of the narrowing of the airways, is lying in a hospital in America with masks on. Please do not spare your prayers..."

SHE HAD A TRAFFIC ACCIDENT

Ahu Tuğba also had a traffic accident in Los Angeles last April.

Tuğba, who suffered broken ribs and underwent surgery, was discharged in May after receiving treatment in intensive care for 3 weeks.

WHO IS AHU TUĞBA?

Ahu Tuğba was born in Yeşilköy, Istanbul, as the only child of a wealthy family. She graduated from the girls' section of the Istanbul American Girls' High School and Robert College. Her cinema career began when director Metin Erksan saw her while walking in Beyoğlu and offered her a role in a film.

She entered the world of cinema while she was still in middle school. She left her studies in the English Language department at Concordia University in Canada unfinished.

She began to be recognized in the Turkish cinema world starting in the late 1970s. She gained fame in the early 1980s and became one of the sex symbols of Turkish cinema in the 80s.

She generally portrayed characters who were sex workers or drug addicts but had pure hearts. She posed for Erkekçe magazine. She performed various shows as a casino artist. She released a music album in 1987.

Ahu Tuğba has been married a total of 10 times throughout her life. She made her second marriage in 1981 to Mustafa Ulusoy. From her marriage in 1991 to the Albanian-American doctor Timmy Alejtanij, she has a daughter born on November 11, 1993, named "Ahu" (Ajelbegü Ahu Anjelik Alejnatij) like herself.

Ahu Tuğba is the owner of a nightclub called Guantenamera in the Osmanbey district of Istanbul. Tuğba lives with her daughter in Miami, in the state of Florida, United States.
